This Luther Dickinson, Gibson model could be all yours for $7,998! The Dickinson name is a mid-south staple. Luther is the son of the late, great, Jim Dickinson, who recorded what has been described as the last great single released by Sun Records—"Cadillac Man" b/w "My Babe" by The Jesters (1966)—playing piano and singing lead on both sides despite not being an actual member of the group.
Luther Dickinson is the former lead guitarists with the Black Crowes, current guitarist of the North Mississippi All-Stars and The Sons of Mudboy, which is a tribute of sorts, to his father's band Mudboy and the Neutrons.
The Luther Dickinson, Gibson model is a modified ES-335 semi hollow body and will retail for $7,998.
Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell, who used to play in Dio, is leading a new side project called Last in Line, which features founding Dio members Vinny Appice, Jimmy Bain and Claude Schnell, plus Andrew Freeman on vocals. They played their first-ever show Saturday in Fullerton, California, and Andrew's brother, Raymond Freeman, says an apparition of Ronnie James appeared at the show. "I just came across it while looking at photos from the last gig. Call me crazy, but it somewhat appears to be Ronnie James Dio just above Vivian Campbell. Just weird... Ghost? Weird lighting? Not sure, but it's there and pretty creepy."
