ODOT is about a month in to the second funding round of a rebate program for EV charging station projects and they’ve allocated about half of the available funding so far.
The Community Charging Rebates Program has allocated about $1.2 million for 42 EV charging station projects throughout the state as of April 8. That leaves about $1.3 million left for eligible projects, and applications are coming in fast.

Remember, the funding round closes July 3, 2024 or as soon as the available money runs out.
This year ODOT has expanded eligible project sites to include workplaces. We’ve also allowed third parties, like EV service providers, to apply on the behalf of the EV charging equipment owner. (Equipment owners still pay for the project and receive the rebate.)
The Community Charging Rebates Program offers rebates for “Level 2” EV charging projects at multifamily homes, workplaces, and publicly accessible parking areas throughout Oregon. The rebates range from $3,500 - $5,500 per charging port or up to 75% of eligible project costs, whichever is less.
Eligible businesses, nonprofits, public entities, Tribes, EV service providers, and owners of multifamily home complexes may apply.
We launched the program’s second funding round last month. Of the 42 approved projects so far, 31 are in rural or disadvantaged communities, where gaps in public EV charging infrastructure are largest.
