Veterinarians in the Metro area report more dogs are coming in with marijuana toxicity.
Dove Lewis Animal Hospital is seeing a nearly 10 percent increase in the number of dogs sickened by marijuana.
"Typically dogs tend to get into things when they are food products. So, when people cook marijuana into cake batter, brownie batter, butters, that's when dogs get into it."
Marijuana may make you happy - but it can give your dog the shakes...make it hard for them to walk...and lose bladder control.
What to do? "Typical treatment is inducing vomiting."
But Kate Goudschaall at Dove Lewis says it's best to let a vet do it to prevent aspiration pneumonia; which can cause the dog to choke on its own vomit.
